Some advice

I was applying to some gradschools and one thing they said they didnt want was a bunch of walk cycles. They want to see your creativity, not just the basics. The walk cycles were nice, good drawings and all the frames were in, but try speeding it up, if ur not using 24 fps use it! it is a must for cartoon animation. Also it wasn't an evolution of walk cycles, it was just a mix/collab.

Mogly responds:

Good point about them wanting to see creativity not just the basics. I've began putting together another SWF with a collection of animated bits n bobs.

I may speed it up.. i've slowed it down to 18 because I like that you see a few of them in slow motion that way. They were all animated at different FPS anywho (and some double keyframed) so it's a bit of a mixture and hard to find a balance, but yeah may speed it up a bit. Cheers for the insight.

Nice

I didn't even really like the music, but i couldnt stop watching lol. I like your style, all your animations flow so well and you can tell that you put your time into making everything transition well. I would like to see something from you that isn't so... "different" lol. You have a very good sense for animation and im curious as to how well it would be with more realistic animations. Good Job None The Less

TheBoogley responds:

I don't think I'll ever make anything very realistic, I've always just drawn silly weird pictures and the stories if you could call them that come naturally from those drawings... I will be making a proper storyboard and have character model sheets for the next one, so it'll be a bit more structured. Thanks for the feedback! :D

Really good except one part

The art and animation was great, but the voice acting took away form the movie IMO. The voices need work, if you can get more voioce actors or something I think this could def be way better.

Nice!

Loved the animation style, fluid and different than the avg submisions. Very nice

very nice

put together very well, im assuming you wanted to submit this to the xmas contest so i recommended it :) good luck

matt-likes-swords responds:

Nah, not really. Just spammin.
Thanks anyhow.

finally a real claymation lol

Im tired of all the crappy ass clay blob animations, this one finally has characters and a story. Good job and Blam all the other crappy ones until they learn to give their guys faces!!!!!!!

VillainousTurtleSLC responds:

Yeah those blue globby ones, never been much of a fan myself.

really good

Very nice animation. The only thing I would say to work on isur character drawing, the main character was kind of poor compared to the backgrounds, fish, etc. Maybe get a little move detail in there or look up some tutorials? Everything else was really good tho.

very nice

traditional animation. Nice drawings, animation and interesting idea. i think the sound needs a lot of work tho. could have gotten a better score if it had better quality and timing.

Excelent

This def should be up higher. so many people have no idea what theyre doing and simple explinations like this really do help. Good job! One small tip for you, Yes solid lines do look finished and professional, but you should use the pencil lines instead of paint brush lines. It keepsthem sharp and clean instead of getting a few uneven edges, it allows you to alter them easier and animates better in flash. Good job tho

Magical-Arts responds:

I have done animations with the pencil tool and yes they do look even cleaner but you also lose alot of the cartoonish feeling. The pencil tool is to recommend for more serious animations but judgeing from what people mostly do for starters and also what I personaly prefere to create the brush tool is a better choice in most cases, simply due to it more lively nature.

hmmmm

Its obvious u put time into making this, but i dont think enough. There were many parts where the green lines on his eyes disaperead and other things simliar to that. Drawings and animation werent too great. I just think you need more practice. Im sure you will get better. Good luck

Thanks for your review.
